AT, Pine Mtn, Grayson Highlands, Cabin Ridge Loop

A four night backpacking trip in the Mt. Rogers High Country beginning on the Appalachian Trail and going south to the Pine Mountain Trail and camping on Pine Mountain the first night. A short bushwhack over to the Crest Trail on day two and then the Crest Trail to Scales where I connect back with the AT. Then is south on the AT over Stone Mountain and down to Wilson Creek Trail where I bushwhack across a meadow to join the Virginia Highlands Trail and camp along Big Wilson Creek. On day three I continue on the VHHT to Cabin Ridge and camp near the junction with the Crest Trail. The next day continues on the VHHT to Deep Gap and cut over to the AT and take the AT north to the Mt. Rogers Trail and follow it to Lewis Fork Spur Trail. Then drop down to the Lewis Fork Trail to Cliffside Trail and camp along Lewis Fork. The final day continues down Cliffside Trail then across SR 603 to the Fairwood Valley Trail back to the junction with the AT. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy the video. Citico Creek Wilderness: Pine Ridge – Rocky Flats Loop

This is a four night solo backpacking trip in Citico Creek Wilderness commencing at the Pine Ridge Trail Head. The loop climbs up Pine Ridge Trail (#99) to Fodderstack Trail (#95), then north on Fodderstack Trail to Crowder Branch Trail (#84). Next the loop descends Crowder Branch Trail to Doublecamp Road (FS Rd. 2659), then southwest of the forest service road to Rock Flats Trail (#100), which completes the loop. Sheltowee Trace Trail – Yamacraw, Big South Fork, Yahoo Falls

A three night backpacking trip on the Sheltowee Trace Trail, commencing at Laurel Ridge Road at the boundary of Big South Fork National River and Recreational Area in Kentucky. On the first day we hike north on the Sheltowee Trace Trail to Trace Branch where we make a campsite. We continue north on the STT on the second day and camp along Lick Creek north of Yamacraw Bridge. The third day we continue north on the STT and make a camp near Yahoo Falls. On the final day my son Nathan hikes north on the STT to US. Route 27 and drives back to pick me up at a paved road crossing northwest of the Rt. 27 trail head. A four night backpacking trip with David Knaus in Sawtooth Wilderness beginning at Pettit Lake and taking Tin Cup Trail (#41) to Yellowbelly Trail (#96) and camping near the first Yellowbelly Creek crossing. On day two we continued on Yellowbelly Trail and then hiked up Trail #40 to Edith Lake. Our third day we continued up Trail #40 to Trail #92 and then went north on #92 up to the pass overlooking Imogene Lake. After checking out the view from the pass we turned around and went south on #92, over another pass and then down to Toxaway Lake. On day four we continued on #92 over our third pass and descended to Alice Lake. Then on our final day we hiked Pettit Creek Trail (#95) back to Pettit Lake.
