Mt. Rogers – Grayson Highlands Loop

Please consider subscribing to my YouTube Channel This is a three night backpacking trip in the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area and Grayson Highlands State Park. Starting at Virginia State Route 603, I take the Appalachian Trail to Old Orchard Trail to Lewis Fork Trail to Cliffside Trail and then up to Pine Mountain Trail. Next I continue on Pine Mountain Trail to Rhododendron Gap and from there take the AT for about 0.2 mile to a campsite between the AT and the Crest Trail. On day three I take Rhododendron Gap Trail to Wilson Ridge Trail and then over Wilson Ridge and back down to the AT. Continuing on the AT through Grayson Highlands State Park, I camp the third night on the north side of Wise Shelter in a meadow along Big Wilson Creek. On day four I take the AT a short distance to Wilson Creek Trail to the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail to Scales. And from Scales I continue on the AT back down to VA SR 603.
